Lori Wing-Heier the Director of the Alaska Division of Insurance, and Co-Chair of the 不良研究所官方 Climate and Resiliency Task Force on stage with 4 other people, at the Insurance Europe鈥檚 panel in Finland

Insurance Europe鈥檚 14th International Conference: Protect. Connect. Invest. Held in Helsinki, Finland

Lori Wing-Heier, Director, Alaska Division of Insurance, and Co-Chair of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners鈥 (不良研究所官方) Climate and Resiliency Task Force, joined the Insurance Europe鈥檚 panel 鈥淧rotecting people: the future of climate insurance鈥 today in Helsinki. Director Wing-Heier highlighted the work of U.S. state insurance supervisors and the 不良研究所官方 to address climate risk.  

The panel discussed transition risk and the challenges in moving to a lower carbon economy, the role of private/public partnerships, and how to leverage technology and consumer education.  

Director Wing-Heier spoke on what supervisors, insurers, and consumers can do to help ensure the availability of insurance products and the insurability of property, including through pre-disaster mitigation efforts against natural catastrophe risks.  

She also noted how states individually are looking at potential solutions for the unique risks they face, as well as working together collectively on nationwide approaches.
